All along, people have a high requirement for baby bottles, we hope it has high transparency, sterilization resistance, chemical resistance and high impact strength. Previously used materials such as polypropylene, bisphenol A polycarbonate and polysulfone often have some drawbacks. In recent years, polymers comprising 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol (CBDO) have shown high inherent viscosity, high melt viscosity and high glass transition temperature (Tg), has been widely used in this field. This article will introduce a technology that uses CBDO as a feedstock to prepare a bottle [1].
In this technology, researchers used terephthalic acid or its esters, CBDO and 1,4-cyclohexane dimethanol as raw materials, the inventor invented a polyester-containing feeding bottle, which contains:
Dicarboxylic acid component (total mol% of 100mol%):
iii) 0~10mol% of aliphatic dicarboxylic acid residues containing up to 16 carbon atoms;
Diol component (total mol% of 100 mol%):
ii) 50~85 mol% of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol residues.
Other components:
The bottles made of this polyester have toughness and high glass transition temperature, high impact strength, hydrolytic stability, chemical resistance, long crystallization half-life, low ductile-brittle transition temperature, good color and transparency. Which not only can extend the service life, but also meet the various requirements of consumers in the process of using the product, enhance product receptivity.
