The Advantages of Acridinium Ester or Acridine Sulfonamide as Chemiluminescent Marker 2018-03-02 16:27:37

Chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) is used to detect and analyze antigens, haptens, antibodies, hormones, enzymes, fatty acids and so on. This technology combines high sensitivity chemiluminescence assay with highly specific immune reaction.

Acridinium ester or acridine sulfonamide is as chemiluminescent marker in direct chemiluminescence analysis. Such compounds can emit light in dilute alkaline solution containing H2O2. And in the light-emitting reaction, a catalyst is not required. In the course of light-emitting, the non-luminescent substituent moiety attached to the acridine ring is detached from the acridine ring before the electron-excited intermediate is formed, i.e. the non-luminescent portion is separated from the luminescent portion. So its luminous efficiency is substantially not affected by the structure of the substituent.

The luminescent type of acridinium ester or acridine sulfonamide is flash light. When luminescent starting reagents are added, the light intensity reaches the maximum in 0.4 seconds with a half-life of 0.9 seconds. The advantages of acridinium ester or acridine sulfonamide marker are as follows.

(1) Low light-emitting of background and high signal-noise ratio.

(2) Interference factors have less effect on light-emitting reaction.

(3) Quick light-emitting, high luminous efficiency and intensity.

(4) They are easy to conjugate with protein which cannot result in reduction of photo yield.

(5) The marker has good stability which can store for several months under 2-8 °C.
