NT-proBNP and troponin T, effective way to detect coronary heart disease

In order to better predict the diagnosis of coronary heart disease, scientists have made unremitting efforts to seek new test method in addition to arterial angiography, and found that the blood test is also a big tool: In 2015, ASGES (for age/gender/gene expression) blood tests can help doctors quickly and safely assess whether the patient's chest discomfort is due to obstructive coronary heart disease; in 2016, Mayo Clinic found that by testing the concentration of plasma ceramide, it can be determined whether those patients with signs of coronary artery disease is obvious at risk of heart attack; In 2017, the British Heart Foundation noted that troponin testing can predict the risk of heart attack.


In this study, the researchers showed that two blood detection methods included more information than any other factors: one of which was NT-proBNP, In the state of stress and in the presence of coronary heart disease, the heart will secrete this precursor; the other one is highly sensitive cardiac troponin T, which is a key protein found in the cardiomyocytes, myocardial Loss of troponin will leak into the blood when the myocardium is damaged, it can be used to assist in the diagnosis of the disease.


In the current treatment, antithrombotic treatment of coronary heart disease is very important, the main drugs are aspirin (acetyl salicylic acid), chloropyrrole (2-thienethylethylamine as substrate) and Ticlopidine (2-Thiophene ethanol as substrate), the role is to inhibit platelet aggregation, prevent thrombosis and block blood vessels, but the risk of bleeding during treatment also increased. Through the combination of special blood tests and some clinical factors, the new technologies may also help to develop a new therapy which is more safe to treat coronary heart disease.
